The undeniable Driessen stood out as the star of the show. She caught fire, notching a tournament-high 49 points, 11 of them coming in their gold-winning game against Azerbaijan.
She would earn MVP plaudits yet again, adding on to her MVP run at the World Cup a few months ago. She would be joined by Arica Carter (Azerbaijan) and Sandra Ygueravide (Spain) in the women’s team of the tournament, who delivered huge performances and played key roles in their nation’s medal-winning runs.
