MANAMA (Bahrain) - Riffa delivered crunch-time heroics on home turf on Day 1 of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Manama Final 2025 on November 21.
TEAMS
RIFFA (BRN)
It was a difficult start in the Final for the home side. They suffered a loss in their opening pool game to Serbian Giants Ub. It would come down to their final pool game against Vienna which was now a must-win situation for Riffa.
It was a back-and-forth battle, a frenzy going all the way to Overtime. With scores tied at 21 points apiece, it was Riffa’s Mohamed Mohamed who would come in clutch, delivering a dagger to earn Riffa a Quarter-Final spot in front of a roaring home crowd. Dennis Donkor and Caspar Augustijnen had been immense all the way, putting up a combined 17 points in the game. The home side are now 3 games away from potentially winning a historic first-ever Final title on home turf.
Other standout teams on the day were Ub, Raudondvaris and Hangzhou, all of whom went perfect in pool play to earn their places in the Final 8.
PLAYERS
STRAHINJA STOJACIC (Ub)
On the day he was announced as the 3x3 World Tour 2025 MVP, the World Number 1 showcased just why he’s worthy of that accolade.
Ub went perfect in pool play and Dr. Strange worked his magic across both games. He started off putting up a joint-high 7 points in their matchup against Vienna. It was a surgical showing from Stojacic, running the game on both ends in a winning effort.
He turned it up a notch in their game against Riffa, making huge contributions both on offense and defense, but it was his late heroics that turned a close battle between the two sides into the Dr. Strange show. He put up bucket after bucket, closing it out with a dagger two-piece to earn Ub the win.
