CIUDAD JUAREZ (Mexico) - Nasir Anderson was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the FIBA U16 AmeriCup 2025 after leading the United States to its ninth straight gold medal in the category. The 15-year-old stood out in the Final victory over Canada (108-71), finishing with 12 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals on Sunday night at the UACJ University Gymnasium in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. The Norcross High School guard averaged 12.3 points, 6.8 assists, 3.5 steals, and 2.3 rebounds per game throughout the tournament. Here are the other members of the All-Star Five:
Dwight Gaines (PUR) - Guard
The Puerto Rican shooting guard was the tournament’s leading scorer with 21.8 points per game, shooting 39% from beyond the arc. He also averaged 3.2 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.8 steals per contest.
Julio Vásquez (VEN) - Shooting guard
Vásquez played a key role in helping Venezuela reach the podium and win its first-ever bronze medal in the category. The Gran Canaria (ESP) player averaged 15.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.
Isaiah Hamilton (CAN) - Small foward
Hamilton was one of the stars of this year’s tournament. The Canadian forward averaged 21.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1.2 assists per game, despite his tournament being cut short due to an injury suffered in the second quarter of the Semi-Final against Venezuela.
Marcus Spears (USA) - Power foward
He shined with 14 points in the Final and was in the conversation for tournament MVP honors after averaging 14 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1.7 assists.
