COPENHAGEN (Denmark) - Lithuania’s Ignas Vaitkus had a dominant showing in Lithuania’s gold-winning run, earning him the MVP award at the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup on September 7.
Vaitkus was the engine for Lithuania. He was at the heart of their success all the way, not just through his offensive ability but in being the physical presence and defensive powerhouse that led to them winning a historic gold-medal in Copenhagen.
He would earn MVP honors in the tournament and would lead the men’s Team of the Tournament. Nauris Miezis (Latvia) and Raphael Gaspardo (Italy) would join him in the elusive list, both of whom led their nations to coveted podium spots.
