PITESTI (Romania) - Lithuania’s Kotryna Grunkyte joined an exclusive group on Saturday after recording a triple-double in her teams 70-67 victory over Croatia in the Classification 11-12 game.
The guard finished with 25 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists to become just the third player in FIBA U16 Women’s EuroBasket history to achieve a triple-double.
She went 8-for-15 from the field and shot 7-for-14 from the foul line in an impressive performance.
Grunkyte joins Poland’s Ramona Casimirio, who accomplished the feat in 2008, and Türkiye’s Olcay Cakir Turgut, who recorded her triple-double against France a year later.
Across this year’s tournament, Grunkyte averaged 14.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.
