MANCHESTER (Great Britain) - French rising star Kathy-Emma Otto has already showcased her amazing potential at FIBA youth events and she has now underlined that promise by lighting it up and taking MVP honors at the Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Europe Camp in Manchester, England.
Otto took the individual accolade after being hailed as the top performer amongst the 30 high-school-age girls from 20 different countries, who all participated at the 22nd edition of the prestigious camp.
Taking place between August 12 and 15, it was the first time that FIBA and the NBA's global basketball development and community outreach program has been held in Great Britain.
Campers benefitted from being coached by the likes of two-time WNBA champion Sylvia Fowles, five-time NBA champion Derek Fisher and Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse.
Otto previously landed onto the radar in a big way after she was named MVP of the FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket 2024. The forward has also played with distinction for France at the FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2024 and most recently at the FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket.
The Defensive MVP accolade was handed to Jessi Nenonen. She has already shone brightly as part of the ground-breaking Finland team that won the FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket for the first time last year and made more history with a maiden Final appearance at the FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket Final back in July.
Maya Zilbershlag was honored as 3-point champion of the event and showed her amazing offensive skills. The Israel star has been incredible at three editions of the FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket - also playing at the FIBA U18 level and against much older players at the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket this year.
Meanwhile talented Great Britain favorite Bo Guttormsdottir-Frost was handed the Patrick Baumann Sportsmanship Award.
Camp MVP Kathy-Emma Otto headlined the All-Star lineup which also included fellow award winner Jessi Nenonen.
They were joined by Adriana Diaz of Spain, Nika Ocvirk of Slovenia, Irene Oboavwoduo of Great Britain, Jada Lynch (BEL) who recently made the All-Star team at the FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket 2025, plus Hungarian duo Kinga Babay-Bognar and Kinga Josepovits - the latter impressing at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2025.
