AHMEDABAD (India) - The cast for the highly anticipated FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2026 is now nearing completion following the conclusion of several Sub-Zone Qualifiers over the past couple of months.
The latest to book their tickets to the continental showpiece are Lebanon, Iran, and Syria after the proud programs emerged as the top three teams of the recent WABA U18 Qualifiers in Amman, Jordan.
Fourteen of the 16 spots for the August 13-23 meet have been booked, which can be seen in the table below. The remaining 2 teams will come from the Gulf Region through the GBA Qualifiers on July 17-22 in Doha, Qatar.

New Zealand and Australia were the first to qualify after emerging as the best two teams of the FIBA U17 Oceania Cup 2025. Kazakhstan followed suit after a mighty 3-game sweep of the CABA Qualifiers last April.
From the SABA Qualifiers last May, Sri Lanka joined hosts India following a runner-up finish behind the latter. China, Japan, Korea, and Chinese Taipei sealed their spots through the EABA Qualifiers last June.
The Philippines and Thailand made their way into the tourney by way of the SEABA Qualifiers last June in Krabi. Then came the troika from West Asia, with Lebanon leading the pack after ruling the WABA Qualifiers.
