TIRANA (Albania) - Cyprus captured the FIBA U18 EuroBasket 2025, Division C crown by defeating Luxembourg 70-60 in the Final.
Dimitris Mannaris poured in 19 points to lead the way while Giorgos Solomou added 16 points and Demetris Yiallourides chipped in 14 points and 5 assists for the winners.
Cyprus won the Division C for the fourth time to earn the right to promotion to Division B next summer. They had previously claimed the crown in 2001, 2019 and 2023.
Luxembourg had Sean Bugeja scored 15 points but they were not enough for the country which lost in the Division C Final last summer to Azerbaijan after third placed finishes in 2022 and 2023.
In the Final in the Albanian capital, Cyprus jumped ahead by 10 points after 10 minutes with a 20-10 lead. The islanders did not give up the advantage the rest of the game, Luxembourg getting to within four points midway through the second quarter.
Luxembourg trimmed the deficit to six points with two minutes to play but could not come up with enough offensive production down the stretch.
In earlier action, Armenia secured their best-ever finish in the Division C by defeating Andorra 81-77 in the Third Place Game.
Sebastian Hatsakorzian tallied 25 points and 12 rebounds, David Parrot added 20 points and Rafayel Masumyan contributed 18 points and 13 rebounds for Armenia, whose previous best result was fourth place last summer.
