The margin of victory of 72 points was also the largest ever in any World Cup Qualifiers game.

The result was never really in doubt throughout the game, but rather it was the manner of victory that was in question.

In their last meetup, Guam defied expectations by pushing Australia in their 93-80 loss.

This time around, though, playing at home, Boomers left nothing to chance, with a wire-to-wire win, reinforcing their standing at the top of Group A.

The real headline came elsewhere, as mentioned. As the 6th-ranked side in the world went about their business, they ended up topping their own previous World Cup Asian Qualifiers three-point shooting record set way back in 2018 - and even topping the record across all World Cup Qualifiers.

As many as 7 Aussies connected from downtown, led by Tyrese Proctor, Angus Glover, Jack McVeigh and Bryce Cotton.
