MIES (Switzerland) - For the second straight season, the Basketball Champions League official Fantasy game is available to all, thanks to the Scorestars mobile app.
The new app brings a lot of improvements and new features: All players are available to every user, there's more tactical gameplay, daily manager missions. There is also a new in-app currency called basketballs, the possibility to improve your team's players, collect daily rewards, and progress in divisions throughout the season.
By default, you get to spend 55 efficiency points on your five starters. Here to help you with the selection are our Fantasy Tips.
Go big with Reggiana's big
Pallacanestro Reggiana are back to the BCL for a second run, and this time around, they've got one of the most exciting prospects in international basketball on their roster.
The 19-year-old man mountain, Mouhamed Faye, is already off to a sublime start to his professional career, and this season seems to be the one where he surprises a lot of people with his efficiency on the court.
That's exactly what you need for your Fantasy team.
Back on Gameday 1, Faye became the youngest ever player to record 15+ points, 5+ rebounds and 5+ blocks in a single BCL game, finishing with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks. He was just 19 years and 239 days old at tip-off, and now he's got another record-breaking quest ahead of him.
No player aged under 21 years old has had multiple games with five or more blocks, and Faye gets five more set points to try and become the first one with two such outings.
The first chance is against Falco-Vulcano Szombathely in Hungary this week. While just one BCL game may be too small of a sample size, the three games Faye played in the Lega Basket Serie A just confirm he's on a hot streak.
He finished in double digits in points in each one of those, while grabbing 9.0 rebounds in 26 minutes per game. He's up to 2.7 blocks per game, as well, giving him an efficiency rating of 16 on average.
Hidden gems
While Faye is among the highest rated players this week, there are some hidden gems among the players rated in single digits in efficiency, or just above it. One of those is Azuolas Tubelis from Rytas Vilnius.
While his 5-point debut game in the BCL was somewhat underwhelming, he has been up to rock-solid stuff in the Lithuanian League, averaging 14.5 points and 16 efficiency rating since that game, and he's available for your Fantasy team for a "price" of 13.4 efficiency points.
Another one available for just 8.4 points is La Laguna Tenerife's Bruno Fitipaldo. The Uruguayan point guard was up for the task as Marcelinho Huertas got injured, and opened up his Liga Endesa account in Spain with 12.0 points and 8.0 assists in the two games Tenerife played over there.
Keep an eye on Isaiah Whitehead, valued at 12.5. WKS Slask Wroclaw's guard has been on a tear since the start of the season, scoring 20 and 15 points in the two games of the Polish Supercup, leading his to the trophy, and he was in double digits in the two games of the Polish League so far, with 15 and 17 points against Gliwice and Arka Gdynia, respectively.
He scored 25 points against Szombathely to set his new BCL career-high, making him the biggest threat to Rytas Vilnius's defense in their matchup this week.
