CAIRO/DAKAR/LAGOS/RADES (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 African Qualifiers) - Angola, Mali, Morocco, and Senegal became the latest teams to secure their places for the Second Round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 African Qualifiers.

They join Cameroon, Nigeria, and Tunisia, who on Friday were the first teams in Africa to secure their berths in the next phase of the competition.

This means five more spots remain to be determined to complete the field of 12 teams that will make up the Second Round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 African Qualifiers.

In the Egyptian capital of Cairo, Morocco needed extra five minutes to defeat a resilient Democratic Republic of Congo  61-58 and become the first team in Group C to advance to the Last 12.

Later in the day, Morocco were joined by Angola who upset hosts Egypt 65-58.

Meanwhile, in Dakar, hosts Senegal assured their progress by beating Cote d'Ivoire 66-61, while Mali became the second Group B team (after Nigeria) to move on thanks to 95-80 victory over Uganda.

The battle for the last five spots for the Second Round resumes on Sunday in Cairo, Dakar, Lagos, and Rades.
