LJUBLJANA (Slovenia) - The international basketball stars of tomorrow will converge in Slovenia this summer in the prestigious FIBA U20 EuroBasket showpiece.

The event takes place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from July 11-19.

The full schedule can be found here.

Who were the winners in 2025?

Italy claimed the FIBA U20 EuroBasket title for the first time since 2013 with an 83-66 victory over Lithuania in Sunday’s Final.

After leading for most of the game — including holding a 16-point advantage at half-time — Italy sealed the win to end their 12-year wait to lift the trophy once again.

Francesco Ferrari starred in the Final for Italy with a game-high of 26 points.

France's quest for a three-peat ended at the Semi-Finals stage, but they responded on the final day to take the last step on the podium with a 73-62 success over Serbia.

Joy for Italy, but despair for Finland, Ukraine and Iceland, as they were relegated to Division B, with Latvia, Croatia and Türkiye replacing them.

    Former MVPs

Francesco Ferrari stood out for Italy to deservedly take home Most Valuable Player honors, and it was clear to see why.

He delivered when it mattered most, producing outstanding performances in both the Semi-Finals and the Final, earning his award. He scored a combined 47 points across the tournament’s two biggest games, helping guide Italy to the title while averaging 15.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game overall.

His display in the Final — highlighted by 26 points and two crucial three-pointers down the stretch — will be remembered.

The previous five winners of the tournament's MVP are as follows:

2025: Francesco Ferrari (ITA) 2024: Zacharie Perrin (FRA) 2023: Ilas Kamardine (FRA) 2022: Juan Nunez (ESP) 2019: Deni Avdija (ISR)

    Roll of honor

Serbia remains at the summit for this age group, with more titles than any other nation. Spain still has the most overall podium finishes with 14, while France's bronze medal last year moves them to nine podium finishes overall.
