    Shanghai prepares for another thrilling World Tour showcase

    SHANGHAI (China) – The FIBA 3x3 World Tour Shanghai 2026 is set to bring another electrifying weekend of elite 3x3 basketball as some of the world’s best teams battle in one of the marquee stops of the season.

    Here’s everything you need to know before the action tips off.

    Where is the event?

    The fourth edition of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Shanghai 2026 will take place on Chongming Island, located in the northernmost area of Shanghai, China.

    One of the world’s leading global cities, Shanghai is renowned as a major hub for finance, business, technology, manufacturing, transportation, tourism and culture. Home to the world’s busiest container port, the city sits along the southern estuary of the Yangtze River, with the iconic Huangpu River running through its heart.

    📍 The WT Shanghai 2026 will be held at the Chongming Wanda Plaza.

    When is it?

    🔸Saturday, May 23 - World Tour Qualifying Draw & Pool Games

    🔸Sunday, May 24 - World Tour Knockout games, Finals.

    Who are the teams?

    A stacked 12-team field featuring powerhouse squads from Europe and Asia will compete in Shanghai.

    How does the competition work?

    There is no Qualifying Draw in FIBA 3x3 WT Shanghai 2026. The 12 teams are split into four pools of three teams each.

    Teams will play each other once during the pool phase. The top two teams from each pool advance to the knockout rounds, beginning with the Quarter-Finals.

    From there, it is single-elimination basketball all the way to the Final, where the WT Shanghai winner will be crowned.

    Who won last year?

    Miami (USA) took the crown in FIBA 3x3 WT Shanghai last year, defeating Hangzhou (CHN) in the Final.

    A new champion will be crowned this time around.

    Which players should you watch?

    FIBA 3x3 WT Shanghai will feature elite talent from across the global 3x3 scene.

    Stefan Milivojevic will look to lead Liman back to the top after a disappointing outing in Zadar, while Stefan Kojic arrives with momentum after guiding Skyliners to a top-four finish at the Xi'an Challenger.

    Home fans will closely follow Karlis Lasmanis, whose explosive scoring ability could power Shanghai toward a deep run. Meanwhile, Dennis Donkor remains key to Antwerp’s hopes of finally breaking through for a podium finish this season.

    Other stars to watch include Fabian Giessmann (Baskets Bonn), Anand Ariunbold (Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy), Guo Hanyu (DeQing) and Vuk Vukićević (Crvena Zvezda).
