Emmanuel Agbason was historic in Croatia

    The Azerbaijani big man added his name all over the tournament's record books whilst twice just missing triple-doubles.

    RIJEKA & OPATIJA (Croatia) - Emmanuel Agbason added his name all over the record books of the FIBA U18 EuroBasket, Division B with a performance for the ages in the 2026 edition.

    The 2009-born player collected 16.4 points, 16.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 2.5 steals and 5.0 blocks for an average efficiency rating of 30.9 playing in his second year at the event.

    Despite Azerbaijan finishing 16th in the event, Agbason led the tournament in rebounds, blocks and efficiency and was fifth in scoring and sixth in steals - setting all-time high marks in rebounds and blocks.

    Agbason twice just missed a triple-double as he totalled 18 points, 12 rebounds and 8 blocks in the Group Phase against Portugal and then had 21 points, 22 rebounds and 9 blocks in Classification 9-16 versus Montenegro - entering the top 10 in single-game blocks.

    Agbason finished the tournament strong with 23 points and 23 rebounds in the Classification 15-16 against Iceland. The 23 rebounds ranked seventh all-time for rebounds in a single game.

    Bojanovsky's outstanding performance from 2011 still ranks higher than Agbason's showing this summer in terms of highest efficiency rating average.

    Though it should be noted that Bojanovsky's 32.0 efficiency came in six games and Agbason had 30.9 efficiency in eight games.

    Earlier this summer, Agbason represented the senior national team in the FIBA EuroBasket 2029 Pre-Qualifiers, before heading to the FIBA U20 EuroBasket 2026, Division B, where he averaged 14.4 points, 14.9 rebounds and 4.1 blocks per game.

    Agbason collected 12 points, 18 rebounds and 10 blocks against North Macedonia for the sixth triple-double in the history of the Division B event.
