ALYTUS & KLAIPEDA (Lithuania) - France became FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket champions for a sixth time after beating first-time finalists Israel, on Sunday.
They opened the game with an 18-0 run to take control on their way to a 79-66 victory in the Final - to cap an unbeaten tournament in Lithuania.
Sarah Cisse posted a big double-double in the win with 15 points and 23 rebounds, while Tea Cleante top scored with a team-high 19 points.
It was Cisse who earned tournament MVP honors with averages of 15.4 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in seven appearances.
Cisse was joined in the All-Star Five lineup by teammate Ines Pitarch-Granel, Israel's Gal Raviv - the tournament's leading scorer - as well as Ines Sotelo Miguez from Spain, and Lithuania's Daniele Paunksnyte.
In the earlier Third Place Game, Spain secured a spot on the podium for a fifth consecutive year as they defeated Belgium 81-59 after pulling away in the final quarter.
Meanwhile, Portugal claimed the title at the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket 2026, Division B tournament in Samokov, Bulgaria. They defeated Greece 78-43 in the Final, with both teams joined by Montenegro in securing promotion.
Those three teams will play in Division A in Poznan, Poland next summer, in place of Serbia, Sweden and Slovenia as they were relegated after finishing in the bottom three.
