Who were the winners in 2024?
France successfully defended its FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket crown with an 83-75 win over Spain in the Final in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Spain raced ahead by 14 points in the first quarter but trailed in the second period and at the half. The second half belonged to France's Manoe Cisse, who hit one big shot after the next to push the lead to 76-63 with under three minutes to play.
Spain scared the French by reducing the gap to six points with under a minute left, but it was not enough.
Cisse, whose biggest output coming into the game was 12 points, finished with 21 points, and Marine Dursus added 17 points in the victory. Awa Fam led Spain with 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Elsewhere, Italy ended last summer's tournament with a medal around its neck after beating Germany 70-48 in the Third-Place Game.
The three bottom-ranked teams – Hungary, Serbia, and Finland – were relegated and will be replaced in this year's event by Division B winners Netherlands, runners-up Belgium, and Czechia.
