VILNIUS (Lithuania) - Spain center Awa Fam was named Most Valuable Player of the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket 2024 despite her country losing in the Final to France.
Fam also headlines the All-Star Five, which also includes teammate Elena Buenavida, Marine Dursus of France, Italy's Matilde Villa and Germany's Frieda Buhner.
MVP: Awa Fam - Spain
Fam collected 20 points and 14 rebounds in Spain's 83-75 loss to France in the title showdown. She was excellent all tournament with 11.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.6 steals.
Elena Buenavida - Spain
Buenavida picked up 18 points against France with 3 assists and for the tournament she tallied 11.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 3.1 steals.
Marine Dursus - France
Dursus contributed 17 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals in France's win over Spain, and overall she averaged 12.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.4 asists and 1.6 steals.
Matilde Villa - Italy
Villa averaged 17.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.6 steals for the third-placed finishing Italians.
Frieda Buhner - Germany
Buhner collected 18.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.7 steals for Germany, who finished fourth.
