MATOSINHOS (Portugal) - Spain celebrated winning the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket title for a 10th time after powering past first-time finalists Lithuania, on Sunday.
The two teams were tied at 19-19 after 10 minutes, but Spain racked up an impressive 37 points in the second quarter on their way to a 102-50 triumph in Matosinhos.
Carla Viegas top scored in the win with 17 points with three other players in double figures in scoring including Marina Mata, who starred with 14 points without a miss, along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
The tournament MVP honor went to Spanish guard Gina Garcia after producing averages of 11.2 points and 4.9 assists per game across their 6-1 overall record.
Garcia was joined in the All-Star Five lineup by Lithuania's Daniele Paunksnyte - who set a tournament record 43 points in the Group Phase - as well as Cristina Osazuwa of Italy, Lourdes Da Silva Costa of Sweden and Latvia's Raina Tomasicka.
Italy claimed the final spot on the podium for the third time in the past four editions with an 84-51 victory over Sweden in the Third Place Game.
Meanwhile, at the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket 2025, Division B tournament, hosts Hungary were triumphant in Miskolc after beating Serbia in the Final, while Croatia joined them both in securing promotion.
The trio will replace Portugal, Netherlands and Czechia in Division A next summer after they finished in the bottom three.
