    Spain will play host to this summer's FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket

    The young stars of tomorrow will head to Spain for FIBA U18 EuroBasket.

    LA PALMA (Spain) - The future stars of women's international basketball will be aiming for glory this summer at the FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket.

    The tournament takes place in La Palma, Spain, from July 5-13.

    Who is participating?

    The groups for the FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket

    A total of 16 teams will compete for the FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket title. They have been split into four groups of four for the Group Phase, as follows:

    Group A: Israel, Montenegro, Serbia, France Group B: Belgium, Portugal, Latvia, Hungary Group C: Slovenia, Greece, Italy, Finland Group D: Türkiye, Czechia, Poland, Spain

    What is the schedule?

    The Group Phase will occur across the opening three days of the tournament, with teams seeded for the Round of 16 stage based on their group position. The competition will continue in the form of a bracket until the Final on July 13, with Classification games also determining each of the 16 positions.

    The teams that finish between 14th and 16th will be relegated to Division B and replaced by the top three teams for the 2026 edition.

    Who were the winners in 2024?

    France completed an unbeaten tournament as they won the FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket crown for the third time

    France vanquished the memories of their 2023 Final loss to Slovenia by beating Spain 80-70 to lift the U18 Women's EuroBasket trophy for a third time.

    The French led by as many as 18 points in the fourth quarter, but had to fend off a late challenge by their opponents, who had got to within four points to end an unbeaten tournament.

    Sarah Cisse led the winners in scoring with 22 points and 6 rebounds, while Nell Angloma and Tea Cleante chipped in with 16 points apiece. Iyana Martin Carrion had a game-high 24 points for Spain, as they had to settle for their 10th silver medal in its history.

    Elsewhere, Serbia claimed the bronze, with a 72-56 victory over Israel in the Third Place Game with Jovana Popovic starring with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists.

    Division B winners Montenegro earned promotion alongside beaten finalists Czechia, and third-placed Greece, while Croatia, Germany and Luxembourg were relegated to Division B after they finished in the bottom three.

    Former MVPs

    Angloma's 16 points in the Final were crucial to France's success and her contributions throughout the tournament were outstanding, as she scooped MVP honors.

    Amongst a stacked France roster, Angloma contributed across the board, finishing among the leaders in numerous categories as the prodigy shot 55 percent from the floor and averaged 13.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.

    Roll of honor

    Spain possess the most overall medals in this age group with their runners-up finish last year taking their tally to 18. The Soviet Union have more titles than any other nation with 11, while France took their medal count to 16 with their third title in 2024.
