Sorensen moved a bit closer to the center of the FIBA youth basketball radar with another towering effort for Denmark. After excelling at the 2025 edition, she logged a fabulous tournament double-double which perfectly underlined her scoring punch and rebounding prowess.

    Alma Kapetanovic - Switzerland

The Swiss standout made some significant steps compared to her debut tournament last summer, increasing her production and influence by some distance. She helped her country to make the last four in Piestany. Racking up multiple double-doubles, she shot the ball brilliantly with 55 percent from the floor and led her teammates well.

    Aylin Niftaliyeva - Azerbaijan

    FORWARD

    Birth Date: January 1, 2010 (16 years old) Height: 6ft 3in / 192cm Tournament Stats: 18.8 EFF, 10.8 PPG, 13.5 RPG, 2.3 APG

The frontcourt prospect put in a couple of majestic displays, including 14 points and 21 rebounds against Bosnia and Herzegovina. A rebounding machine, nobody averaged more boards in the competition. Niftaliyeva showed exactly why she has already played in the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2027 Qualifiers for her country.

    Veronique Schutte - Netherlands

    FORWARD

    Birth Date: March 9, 2010 (16 years old) Height: 6ft 0in / 180cm Tournament Stats: 19.3 EFF, 16.8 PPG, 71.4 FG%, 9.3 RPG

Leading her nation in efficiency, points and rebounds, Schutte also shot the ball better than anyone in the competition. The Dutch standout netted a spectacular 71.4 percent from the field after making 30 of 42. Alongside the accuracy came plenty of hard work on the boards, only just falling short of a tournament double-double.

    Mojan Malek - Great Britain

    GUARD

    Birth Date: April 6, 2010 (16 years old) Height: 5ft 10in / 178cm Tournament Stats: 16.0 EFF, 14.7 PPG, 11.7 RPG, 4.3 SPG, 2.0 APG

Tipped to be one of the ballers to watch, Malek came up with strong individual displays as expected. Finishing top for her team in efficiency, points, rebounds and steals, there was a lot to love at both ends of the court. Her 22 points, 10 boards and 5 steals against Ireland helped her side to record a much-needed victory.

    Run Sveinbjornsdottir - Iceland

    GUARD

    Birth Date: March 24, 2011 (15 years old) Height: 5ft 6in / 170cm Tournament Stats: 17.0 EFF, 12.8 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 5.8 SPG, 3.3 APG

Understandably overshadowed by her teammate and MVP Berglind Hlynsdottir, there's no doubt Sveinbjornsdottir also deserves plaudits for her own displays. She was also a brilliant presence for Iceland, producing a smart all-around effort, particularly on the defensive end, where she averaged an impressive 5.8 steals per game.

    Yelyzaveta Puhach - Ukraine

    FORWARD

    Birth Date: July 31, 2010 (16 years old) Height: 5ft 11in / 182cm Tournament Stats: 13.5 EFF, 13.3 PPG, 6.0 RPG

The forward was a true anchor for Ukraine throughout and saved her best until last with a special 25-point display in the Third Place Game against the Netherlands. Showing great leadership, it was a promising FIBA debut for Puhach, which suggests there will be even more to come when she returns in future competitions.
