AMMAN (Jordan) - Jalen Harris wrote his name in FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers history books following a sensational showing to power Jordan past Syria in their rematch in Window 1 of the Asian Qualifiers, Sunday.
Just in his second game with the Falcons, the 27-year-old guard erupted for 42 big points thanks mainly to an 8-of-16 clip from beyond the arc to lead the way in a dominant 100-48 conquest at the Prince Hamza Hall.
He now owns the second-most points by a player in a World Cup Qualifiers game, just one point shy of tying and two from breaking the all-time record set by Ra Guna (43 points) against Hong Kong, China back in 2018.
So far, this is the highest scoring total in the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers.
It is, furthermore, the 9th-ever 40-point game in the history of the World Cup Qualifiers.
