ABIDJAN (Cote d'Ivoire) - When their teams needed them most, they delivered jaw-dropping performances.

The African World Cup Qualifiers won't be over until February 2027, but it was down to star players to inspire their teams.

All five players selected for this poll helped their teams in crucial situations on Sunday 5 July, the final day of the third qualifying round of the World Cup African Qualifiers.

Veteran Firas Lahiani led Tunisia with a stellar double-double performance of 14 points and 14 rebounds. Tunisia went on to beat Guinea 61-50, improving to 4-2 ahead of the second round.

Cape Verde's Patrick Spencer also put in an impressive performance, finishing with 9/9 shooting from the floor to finish with 21 points, nine rebounds and five blocks. Cape Verde saw off Libya 98–66.

In Douala, Cameroon, Jordan Bayehe was one of Cameroon's pillars in their narrow 78-74 win over South Sudan, the No. 1 team in Africa. Bayehe finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

In Luanda, Angola were in desperate need of a bounce-back performance after their disappointing result against Egypt the previous day, and Selton Miguel delivered just that.

In addition to his 22 points and two assists, Miguel finished with an efficiency rating of 20, as Angola ended Mali's unbeaten run with an 88-74 victory.

Egypt's secret weapon was veteran Amr Gendy, who came off the bench to help them tie the game at 67-67 and send it to overtime, before they won 77-70.
