SOPRON (Hungary) - The legendary Jelena Brooks has signed off her EuroLeague Women career as one of the most productive players of the competition in the modern era.
With Sopron Basket having exited at the end of the First Round of the Regular Season, it means that Brooks has played in the famous competition for the very last time.
She announced at the start of the campaign that the 2025-26 season would be her last. And, despite her club not making the Second Round, she still steps away as the 10th highest scorer in EuroLeague Women history after accumulating 2366 points in her 181 games, while also racking up 799 rebounds and 226 steals.
"From the moment I picked up a basketball at 6 years old, I could never have imagined the journey it would take me on," reflected Brooks.
"At 18 I became a professional and since then, this game has given me everything — joy, challenges, growth, friendships, and memories that will stay with me forever. "Sopron Basket has truly become my second home. This city, this club, and the incredible fans have been my family through all the highs and lows. I feel nothing but gratitude. I was blessed to experience basketball in Russia, Spain, and Turkey, each chapter teaching me something new, but Sopron has always been where my heart belongs." She added: "Saying goodbye is never easy, but I don’t see this as only an ending — it’s also a celebration of everything this game has given me."
