The 2nd edition of the FIBA AfroCan promises to be thrilling, Angola, the country of basketball, is hosting this one.
Angola borders the Democratic Republic of Congo to the north and northeast, the Republic of Congo to the northwest, Zambia to the east and Namibia to the south.
Luanda, the capital of Angola, is a port city located on the west coast of southern Africa. An oceanfront promenade, named Marginal, runs along the bay of Luanda. Nearby is the São Miguel Fortress, a well-preserved building dating from the 16th century and now housing the Armed Forces Museum. The fort offers views of the port and the island of Luanda, a long, narrow peninsula in the bay dotted with beaches, bars and restaurants.
Once again, the Angolan capital will be at the center of African basketball with 12 African nations competing on behalf of FIBA AfroCan.

VISA INFORMATION
For Angola, you will have to apply for your normal visa directly at the Consulate of the Angolan Embassy: Your physical presence will be compulsory because you will have to file your fingerprints at the same time as your file. It is therefore now impossible to go through an intermediary.
In the hope of developing the tourism industry, the Angolan authorities have applied a new visa policy since March 30, 2018, national radio announced.
The tourist visa can be obtained upon arrival in Luanda upon presentation of a valid passport, a return plane ticket, an international vaccination certificate and proof that the tourist can pay his accommodation and meals in Angola.
This measure concerns nationals of 61 countries.

ELECTRONIC VISA
The Angola E-Visa on Arrival is a single entry visa and is valid for 30 days after arrival. The maximum length of stay in Angola with this E-Visa is 30 days in total.
HEALTH
Arrival and departure from Angola
Following the lifting of the state of public calamity by the Angolan State on May 16, 2022 and Presidential Decree No. 98/23 of April 14, 2023, in addition to proof of vaccination against yellow fever, travelers can enter the Angolan territory upon presentation of their complete vaccination scheme or a negative COVID PCR test of less than 48 hours.
They can leave Angola with their printed COVID vaccination certification, plus the formalities required by the country of destination.
People wishing to travel to and from Angola must imperatively contact the airline to find out what formalities will be required by the health authorities on the day of boarding.
ARENA
Helmarc Arena, also known as Arena do Kilamba, is a state-owned multi-purpose indoor arena used primarily for basketball in Belas, Angola.
Located in the new district of Kilamba, near the Angolan capital Luanda, this multipurpose hall dates from 2013, it is a multi-sports hall with approximately 13,000 seats.
EQUIPMENT
It is made up of six changing rooms for the teams, a fitness centre, around ten cafeterias and restaurants, a multimedia center and a modern anti-doping control room.
