Legendary Jelavic preparing to get Croatia back to the top table

ZAGREB (FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 Qualifiers) - Croatia will rely on their EuroLeague and EuroCup Women core to take them to the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 as playing legend Andja Jelavic heads into her first competitive campaign.

Previously the heartbeat of the Croatia national team when they hit the heights of an unexpected maiden trip to the Olympics at London 2012, the legendary Jelavic has a lengthy 24-player candidate list to choose from.

Leading the list is EuroLeague Women duo Marija Rezan of ZVVZ USK Prague and Antonija Sandric of CCC Polkowice.

There will also be high expectations from a number of EuroCup Women campaigners, including the likes of Ruzica Dzankic of Sepsi Sic, Ivana Dojkic of Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje, Carmen Miloglav of Rutronik Stars Keltern and Ana-Marija Begic of Udominate.

Meanwhile the powerful veteran duo of Jelena Ivezic and Luca Ivankovic, who play in the highly-rated Italian and Turkish Leagues, are likely to be starting five contenders in the frontcourt.

Croatia will tip-off at home to Sweden on November 11 and then make a tough-looking trip to Italy for next month's second contest. Their Group also includes a match-up against FYR of Macedonia.
