Turkey slice Cameroon apart to reach the Quarter-Finals

NANTES (2016 FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament) - Turkey closed their Group B campaign with a dominant performance beating Cameroon 72-46 to advance to the 2016 FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament (WOQT) Quarter-Finals.

Nevriye Yilmaz  and Lara Sanders, the only Turkish players to score in double figures, set the tone combining for 23 points, while Ramses Lonlack and Monique Ngo Ndjock led the Africans with a combining 25 points.

Turning Point: Ekrem Memnun's team controlled the contest from start to finish, never gave Cameroon a chance nor trailed and led by as much as 30 points.

Stats Don't Lie: The Central Africans rarely converted a team play, and it came as no surprise that they finished with only six assists against Turkey's 22. Cameroon shot only 3-of-15 from three-point range but only converted 25 percent of their field goals attempts.

Game Hero: Turkey gave Cameroon a real lesson of team-effort.

The Bottom Line: It was one-way traffic for Turkey, and Cameroon never really posed a threat. While the Africans return home looking to prepare for next year's continental championship, Turkey are one win away from reaching the Rio Olympics. They will take on Cuba on Friday.
