Jefferson to pull the strings with Galatasaray

ISTANBUL (EuroCup Women 2017) – Galatasaray have made a major statement of intent ahead of the EuroCup Women 2017 season with the addition of highly-rated American playmaker Moriah Jefferson.

The point guard has recently embarked on her rookie WNBA campaign in a San Antonio Stars vest and will now look forward to debuting on European soil with the Turkish powerhouse.

Jefferson enjoyed a standout career with the USA at youth level, scooping the 2013 FIBA U19 Women’s World Championship with almost four assists per game and some impressive defensive performances.

She made the breakthrough to the senior USA team last year and featured in a largely experimental team that finished second at the Pan-American games. The 22-year-old has also landed a quartet of NCAA Championships with the all-conquering University of Connecticut.

Galatasaray have also booked a return to the club for forward Deniz Colakoglu who previously featured during the 2014-15 season. Last year she played with Canik Belediyesi averaging more than seven points and three rebounds per game.

Both players will step out for new Galatasaray head coach Marina Maljkovic who is currently in Rio to oversee the maiden Olympic appearance of Serbia.
