Krivacevic feeling the love back in Hungary after booking a surprise return

GYOR (EuroCup Women) - Hungary national team standout Tijana Krivacevic turned heads when she put pen to paper on a deal to play in EuroCup Women with CMB Cargo Uni Gyor.

Outside of a brief few months with Sopron Basket in 2015, the classy forward has spent five years playing outside of her homeland, but is now back to lead her new club.

Like Gyor, she also has plenty of EuroLeague Women experience and while moving down to EuroCup Women, there will be no complacency when one of the potential stars of the competition hits the hardwood.

Krivacevic and her team have had a mixed bag of friendly results ahead of the new season, beating Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje 71-64, but losing heavily 67-41 against fellow EuroCup Women entrants Olympiacos in a preparation tournament.

She stated: "It's true that last year I did not think I'd like to play in Hungary and I was still going abroad in my mind.

"But now thinking about things better, I really needed to start a season where the team is not new, because I know the girls and Hungary. It is more fun to play and I can feel the support and the love.

"Also, I would not really isolate EuroLeague Women or EuroCup Women," continued Krijacevic.

"EuroCup Women is also very strong and we can always say that there is no easy group and so we will have to see what happens."

Gyor will go up against Namur, Nantes Reze and either Saint-Amand Hainaut or Amsterdam Angels in EuroCup Women  Group J, while Krivacevic will also want to impress ahead of the FIBA EuroBasket Women 2019 Qualifiers.

The first window is in November and Hungary have lost head coach Stefan Svitek, with the play-caller agreeing to pick up the coaching reins of Czech Republic earlier this week.
