Tornike tornado has Sports Palace spinning
TBILISI (FIBA EuroBasket 2017 Qualifiers) - With an efficiency of +38, Tornike Shengelia had the 8,200-strong crowd in Sports Palace Tbilisi in raptures on Wednesday night, as Georgia breezed by Slovak Republic 96-68 on Wednesday night.
Shengelia possessed the magic of a magician against the hapless Slovaks, already racing out to 24 points at half-time, going 9-of-12 from the field in less than 15 minutes of court time.

He found himself a little heavier guarded in the second-half, but the scoring touch remained, finishing with 31 points on on 11-of-14 field scoring, in a shade under 28 minutes.

Georgia will now go into their final game against Montenegro on Saturday, knowing they will be playing for top spot in the Group. Even with a loss, they will have a good chance to be one of the best second-placed teams.
The return game on 7 September was one of the highlights of the Qualifiers to date, Montenegro escaping Tbilisi with a 76-74 victory.
