Swiss Basketball & FIBA team up to multi-cast national team games

MIES (FIBA EuroBasket 2017 Qualifiers) - Swiss Basketball and FIBA are teaming up to multi-cast Switzerland's home games in the FIBA EuroBasket 2017 Qualifiers.

The national federation and FIBA on Wednesday livestreamed the national side's clash with Cyprus reaching over 56’000 cumulated fans. The game was distributed on the following channels:

Switzerland's home game against Iceland on Saturday will be shown on the same platforms.

Swiss Basketball produce the games while FIBA provide the technical infrastructure to distribute the live stream to different destinations.

The end result is that multi-casting gives fans a way to watch games wherever they are and also allows Swiss Basketball and FIBA to reach new viewers. Another benefit is the increased exposure for sponsors of Swiss Basketball and its national team.

The project is already deemed a success. FIBA are looking to get more federations involved so even more national teams can multi-cast games.
