Hernández announces Argentina’s final cut for second window

BUENOS AIRES (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019) - The Head Coach of the Argentine national team, Sergio Hernández, announced his 12 players for the second window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers.

The Argentine team will combine the best of its young quarry, along with players of international impact. Unquestionably its leader will be power forward Luis Scola, who already has two Olympic medals, including gold in Athens 2004, and 149 official matches with the national team.

Of the final 12 players, there are four currently playing in the ACB of Spain, in Marcos Delía (Murcia), Nicolás Laprovíttola (Joventut de Baladona), Lucio Redivo (Bilbao) and Nicolás Brussino (Gran Canaria).

The rest of the players add minutes in the Argentinian National League, being the main figure forward Gabriel Deck who plays for San Lorenzo de Almagro. The other prospect on Argentine soil is shooter Máximo Fjellerup, developed in Bahía Basket.

Argentina plays for a 2-0 mark and will host both games of the window in Olavarría. The first match is a duel of unbeaten teams against Uruguay on Friday, February 23 and the second game will be against Paraguay on Monday, February 26.
