JS Kairouan humble Rivers Hoopers to secure ELITE 8 ticket
SALE (Morocco) – Tunisian outfit JS Kairouan on Sunday edged Nigerian club Rivers Hoopers 91-70 to become the sixth team to secure a spot in the Elite 8 phase of the FIBA Africa Basketball League 2019.
JSK bounced back from a defeat against AS Sale to record their second win in the tournament.
Maodo Nguirane for his third consecutive game recorded a double double. The Senegalese center was special churning in 16 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals and a block, breathing life into JSK’s quest for a win.
His teammate Lawrence Gilbert Jr was overwhelming hitting game-best 29 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and a steal while Shooting Guard Jawhar Jawadi Added 17 points. as the Tunisians cruised to a win over Rivers Hoopers.

Nigeria International Abdul Yahya sparked the Hoopers with team-best 22 points, 5 rebounds and an assist. His efforts were not enough to prevent the nigerian side from a second loss to crash out of the competition.
JS Kairouan join AS Sale to sail through to the ELITE 8 after Egyptian teams Smouha SC, Petro Atletico and Primeiro D'Agosto of Angola that had previously punched their ticket for the knock-out stage.
