Top 5 Performances from Day 2 of FIBA ABL 2019 Group A games

SALE (Morocco) – AS Sale courtesy of a second win in Group A punched their ticket for the Elite 8 of the FIBA Africa Basketball League 2019 with JS Kairouan, and Rivers Hoopers now set for an enthralling battle for the second ticket in the group.

Debutants SLAC of Guinea are out of the race as they suffered a second straight loss.

Just like on Day 1, there was spectacle and FIBA. Basketball has selected five standout performances during Day 2.

Mohamed Choua (AS SALE)
The Moroccan was astonishing coming on from the bench to hit a double double with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks to propel the home side to the Elite 8 thanks to a 77 – 70 win over JSK.

The 26-year-old Small Forward slotted in 6 of his 7 field goals and had a 100 percent execution with his 3 point attempts.

Maodo Nguirane (JSK)
For the second consecutive game, the Senegalese center was in high spirits backing 11 points for the Tunisian giants even though they ended on the losing side against hosts AS Sale.

With 16 rebounds, 14 of which were defensive rebounds, the 25-year-old dominated at both ends of the pitch in their losing cause.

Precious Saliu (River Hoopers)
Saliu’s resilience was the highpoint of Rivers Hoopers victory over SLAC. The 23-year- old rewarded coach Ogoh Odaudu’s confidence, coming off the bench to sink in 15 points and 7 rebounds. He inspired the Nigerian outfit to a vital 76-75 triumph over SLAC, and as result keep their Elite 8 ambitions alive..

Shaquille McFarlan (SLAC)
SLAC slumped to Rivers Hoopers but McFarlan was the best on the court netting a game high 24 points.

The 24-year-old Guard made 4 of his 8 three point attempts to keep the Guinean team in a tight contest and showed unrivalled determination on the court.

Ahmed Dhif (JSK)
Dhif played his heart out for JS Kairouan pouring in a game high 24 points. He grabbed 5 rebounds, and 3 assists for the Tunisian giants and fans will be hoping to see more of such spectacle from the 22-year-old Point Guard when they play Rivers Hoopers on Sunday in a bid to punch the last Elite 8 ticket.
