Top 5 Performances from Day 3 of FIBA ABL 2019 Group A games

SALE (Morocco) – AS Sale drew the curtains on the third Window of the FIBA Africa Basketball League 2019 with a 107-93 triumph over Guinean side SLAC to improve to a 3-0 mark.

Earlier in the day, Tunisian giants JS Kairouan secured their ELITE 8 ticket after a vital 91-70 win over Nigerian outfit Rivers Hoopers who close their ABL Campaign on a 1-2 slate.

FIBA.basketball has selected 5 players whose performances were exceptional.

Abderrahim Najah (AS Sale)

Moroccan international Najah did the hard work pouring in 21 points and 11 rebounds to guide the home side to a third victory and stay unbeaten.

The 1.98m(6ft6in) Power Forward sunk in 7 of his 11 two point attempts and brought his leadership and courage to an intense game.

Maodo Nguirane (JS Kairouan)

When you hit double doubles in 3 consecutive games then you’ve got something special and Nguirane is indeed a kingpin on the JS Kairouan team.

The Senegalese center dropped in 16 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists to enable the Tunisian giants beat Rivers Hoopers and cruise to the FIBA ABL 2019 ELITE 8.

Defensively he tidied his paint and made 4 steals as well as a block during his spirited display.

Shaquille McFarlan (SLAC)

McFarlan is a warrior and day in day out he’s on point when duty calls. The 24-year- old shot in 25 points with 8 rebounds and 5 assists.

He converted 4 of his 7 three point attempts to maintain SLAC’S momentum for a win against the host side, with the Guinean side ending up vanquished.

Abdul Yahaya (Rivers Hoopers)

The power forward was the Nigerian outfit’s consolation as they slumped against JS Kairouan.

He brought in 22 points with 5 rebounds, displaying great resilience throughout the 3 group games.

Lawrence Gilbert Jr (JS Kairouan)

The 32-year-old Small Forward put up a five star performance hitting a match best 29 points with 5 rebounds and an assist.

He played with great finesse and surely fans will hope to see more of him during the ELITE 8.
