Players who lit up the court on Gameday 5 at the FIBA U18 African Championship

ANTANANARIVO (Madagascar) - Gameday 5 marked the end of the Group Phase, and we now know who are those making it to the Quarter-Finals.

From Abdramane Kanoute to Mouhamed Faye, below is a list of players who lit up Day 5 of the FIBA U18 African Championship.

ABDRAMANE KANOUTE (Mali)

He has become a regular in the top performers list, and he can contend for a spot in the tournament's All-Star Five such is his impact on this Mali team's rotation.

With 24 points to his credit, Kanoute is adding fame to his name game after game.

He is one of Mali’s stalwart players and he proves, with 6 steals, that he can be a valuable piece in their game.

MOUHAMED FAYE (Senegal)

Another regular name here. But let's face it: Along with Ousmane Ndiaye, Faye is Senegal’s towering point, from both ends of the court.

With 26 points and 15 rebounds, he was the top-scorer against Madagascar, and was efficient on both sides of the court with 10 offensive rebounds and 5 defensive ones.

ZAYD YAHIAOUI (Algeria)

Algeria's point guard Zayd Yahiaoui made a show of his skills against Benin.

He left his mark on the game with his 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Now that his side is through to the Quarter-Finals, he promises to be even more efficient.

And we can't wait to see more of him.

MADJIDI TANIMOU (Benin)

With a game-high 18 points, coupled to 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal, Tanimou was the man Benin needed to try and hold off Algeria in their last game for the Group Phase.

He was kept busy at both sides of the court and homed in 6 out of his 12 attempts from behind the arc.

LANDRIC DONOVAN RAKOTONANAHARY (Madagascar)

Playing in the shadow of Mathias M’Madi is no easy feat. While the latter scored 18 points against Senegal, which were not enough to grab the win, Landric Donovan Rakotonanahary played a determinant role in Madagascar’s prowess of holding on to the West Africans.

He handed back a sheet with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal, making him the second-best player on the court.
