VACOAS-PHOENIX, Mauritius (FIBA U16 African Championship 2017)- The official draw for FIBA U16 African Championship 2017 took place on Wednesday July 12, in Mauritius' city of Vacoas-Phoenix.

The results of the draw are as follows:

Group A: 1.Mauritius; 2.Mozambique; 3. Tunisia; 4.Mali
Group B: 1. Egypt; 2. Madagascar; 3.Rwanda; 4.Algeria

The competition is set to tip off on July 13 at Phoenix Gymnasium and it serves as a qualifier for the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018 in Argentina.

The first phase in each of the two groups will consist of a tournament played over two legs.

The top two teams from each group will advance to Semi-Finals which will be played in a knockout format, while the bottom two teams from each group in the Group Phase will play the Classification Games 5-8.

The Third-Place Game and the Final will be played on the last day of the tournament.
