USA, Brazil, Canada and Mexico to represent Americas at 2016 FIBA U17 Women's World Championship

PUEBLA (2015 FIBA Americas U16 Women's Championship) -  The United States, BrazilCanada and hosts Mexico all won on the second day of the 2015 FIBA Americas U16 Women's Championship to book their places in the Semi-Finals.

In doing so, they have clinched the four qualifying berths in the Americas for the 2016 FIBA U17 Women's World Championship.

The defending Americas U16 women's champions USA were the first in action, taking on Honduras who matched them in the first quarter, but Dori Oldaker's team imposed its dominance early in the second and ran away with an 86-41 win.

Honesty Scott-Grayson led the US with 18 points.

Brazil looked to improve to 2-0 when they squared off against Cuba. Anne Sabatini's team took control of the game from the start and stayed in control throughout on their way to an 82-50 win.

Going up against Venezuela, the Canadians managed to impose themselves early on as they cruised to a 76-45 win.

In the last game of the day, more than 2,000 people were in attendance at the Universidad Interamericana Stadium as hosts Mexico faced Argentina.

The teams were evenly matched during the first half. With the packed crowd really getting into the act to start the third quarter, the home team outscored their opponets 25-14 and it paved the way for a 68-57 victory.

Friday is the last day of Group Phase action.
