Olympiacos, DVTK Hun-Therm enjoy big wins on opening night of Qualifiers

MUNICH (Germany) - The EuroLeague Women Qualifiers tipped off on Tuesday night and it was Olympiacos SFP and DVTK Hun-Therm who both got onto the front foot with first night wins.

A fabulous last quarter ensured the home fans were celebrating as DVTK Hun-Therm finished with a powerful 27-6 run to claim a convincing 80-54 success against Elizur Ramla.

Ruthless in punishing Ramla with points from turnovers and also prospering from a massive 35 points off the bench, the hosts had too much for their Israeli opponents.

Fresh from starring with Puerto Rico at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, guard Arella Guirantes showed her quality with an all-action 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists.

Another baller from Sydney was Darcee Garbin and the Opals forward impressed with 19 points.  Meanwhile, the loss was tough on USA star Shakira Austin, with the forward racking up a superb 19 points, 19 rebounds and 6 blocks for Ramla.

Olympiacos SFP strode past ACS Sepsi-SIC 73-54 thanks mainly to a sensational display from forward Megan Gustafson, who registered a stellar performance efficiency valuation of 43. She amassed a double-double of 31 points and 13 rebounds as well as dishing out 3 sweet assists too.

That helped the Greek side shoot a deadly 62 percent from inside as they coasted to victory. Khadijiah Cave harvested an eye-catching 14 points and 14 boards in defeat.
