MIAMI (United States) - FIBA’s Regional Office in the Americas announced the groups and schedule for the third edition of the Women’s Basketball League Americas (WBL Americas), which will be played from September 29 to October 4, 2026, at Centro Deportivo Ismenia Pauchard Demier in Santiago, Chile. The groups are as follows:
Group A
CDC Leones (Chile) Ferro (Argentina) Defensor Sporting (Uruguay)
Group B
Sportiva Italiana (Chile) Bay Area Phoenix (USA) SESI Araraquara (Brazil)
Competition format
On the road to the title, the teams will compete as follows:
Each team will play one game against every opponent in its group
The first-place team in each group will advance directly to the Semi-Finals
The second-place teams in each group will face the third-place teams from the opposite group (2B vs. 3A and 2A vs. 3B) in the Quarter-Finals
The Quarter-Final winners will advance to the Semi-Finals, where they will face the first-place teams from each group, while the losing teams will play for fifth place
The Semi-Final winners will meet in the championship game, while the losing teams will play for third place
Schedule
Each day of the competition will feature two games except the final day, when three games will be played. The Group Phase will take place from September 29 to October 1. The Quarter-Finals will be played on October 2, the Semi-Finals on October 3, and the Final on October 4:
