BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office-Asia has confirmed the schedule of the FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) Season 2 Sub-Zone Leagues Semi-Finals on Thursday, March 21.

The said phase commences on Monday, March 26, with defending FIBA WASL champions Manama taking on Muharraq in yet another battle of long-time Bahraini rivals.

The best-of-3 opener is scheduled at 22:00 local time at the Khalifa Sport City, with the 6-0 Manama looking to keep their form from the last time they played in the league.

Reigning Gulf League titlists Kuwait Club, on the other hand, will go up against a Kazma side hungrier than ever to earn payback in a battle between domestic rivals at the Shaikh Saad Alabdullah Sport Hall Complex in Kuwait City. Game 1 is set at 22:00 local time.

Over at the West Asia League Semis, Al Riyadi will open up the sub-zone league action on March 28, Wednesday, against Sagesse in another Beirut derby.

Tipping off at 22:00 local time, the storied affair will take place at the Stade Nouhad Nawfal in Zouk Mikael, with the Yellow Castle entering Game 1 motivated to keep their throne as West Asia League champions - and to earn a shot at the ultimate prize.

The unblemished Shahrdary Gorgan, meanwhile, will begin their redemption tour from a runner-up finish in the inaugural season as they take on Iraqi club Al Shorta on Thursday, March 28, 22:00 local time at the Azadi Basketball Hall in Tehran, Iran.

Winners of the Sub-Zone Leagues Semis will not only head into the Sub-Zone Leagues Finals but will be punching their tickets as well to the FIBA WASL Final 8.

Losing sides in the Semis, meanwhile, will figure in a knock-out Third-Place Game. Winners will secure their places in the pan-regional competition's culminating event.
