KATOWICE (Poland) - The Group Phase at the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 concluded on Thursday with final set of games in Katowice and Limassol, as the big names once again delivered some memorable performances.
We were only two assists shy of two triple-doubles with Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo putting their teams on their broad shoulders, but others did not disappoint also.
But who was the best among them? Cast your vote in the fan poll and tell us who do you think should be the Player of the Day!
Luka Doncic once again came inches close to a new triple-double as he led Slovenia to an 106-96 win over Israel, a success that saw Slovenia claim third Group D spot. Luka Magic is real and we have 37 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists as evidence to support that claim.
In that very same game, Deni Avdija went toe-to-toe with Luka for the most part, but he and Israel fell short nevertheless. Avdija came up with a big showing of 34 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists for an efficiency of 29.
As Greece overcame reigning champs Spain 90-86 to eliminate them and claim top Group C spot for themselves, Giannis Antetokounmpo once again proved this Greek team is a different beast with him on the floor. The Greek Freak was also an assist shy of a triple-double with 25 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists.
However, Giannis had plenty of support in Tyler Dorsey. The shooting guard drained six three-pointers as he started on 4-of-4 from beyond the arc and finished with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Greece is surely going to need more of that in the Final Phase.
Jusuf Nurkic once again shone as Bosnia and Herzegovina beat Georgia 84-76 and claimed Round of 16 spot. The Bosnian Beast came up with a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds, also dishing out two dimes and blocking one shot.
