The first gameday of the Qualifying Tournaments is in the books, but who did it best?

    MIES (Switzerland) - The curtain was raised on the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Qualifying Tournaments and plenty of players in Wuhan, Istanbul, Lyon-Villeurbanne and San Juan responded in style with superb outings for their respective teams.

    We've picked out the Top Performers from March 11 and you can let us know who you think was Player of the Day by casting your vote in the fan poll below.

    First, here are the contenders who lit it up.

    The highest performance efficiency valuation of the first gameday was an outstanding 38 posted by Dorka Juhasz as Hungary eased out Japan 77-65 in Istanbul.

    The center recorded the third highest efficiency in tournament history thanks to a record breaking all-time high 15 field goals. That contributed to her 33-point haul which was the second highest ever. She also added 9 rebounds and 2 assists.

    Dominique Malonga also put on a show as she headlined France in their dominant and record-breaking 115-66 success against Philippines. The center stepped off court having registered a near double-double of 21 points and 9 rebounds - as well as getting everyone on their feet with a spectacular dunk.

    Ezi Magbegor also did the business on Turkish soil after she led Australia past Argentina by 91-65 with a classy showing in the paint. Going 5 of 6 from the floor, she finished with 16 points, along with 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists.

    USA cruised past Senegal 110-46 and their success was in part due to a spectacular debut by Caitlin Clark. The 24-year-old scored 17 points from a smart shooting effort and also handed out 12 assists - the second most by any player in competition history.

    Closing out the list is China's Li Yueru. She pleased the home crowd in an opening game win over Mali, 81-68, by putting up a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds.
