The Galatasaray star put on a clinic to collect a national team career high 35 points for Hungary.

ISTANBUL (Türkiye) - There was no stopping Dorka Juhasz on the opening day of action in Istanbul as the center set a FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournaments record for field goals made in a display for the ages.

The centerpiece of a vibrant 77-65 success against Japan, Juhasz smashed past her previous best tally in a senior national team vest of 21 points and made a jaw-dropping 15 field goals in the contest - a new all-time high in the competition.

Not only that, but her 35 points was the second all-time highest by any player and only 1 away from equalling the record set four years ago.

In a game where Hungary were slight underdogs having not even reached FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025, Juhasz translated her exceptional club form onto the international stage to help complete what could be a pivotal victory.

A huge favorite with the passionate fans of Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray Cagdas Faktoring, Juhasz is in contention to be crowned EuroLeague Women MVP and she showed why with another spectacular performance.

Eventually collecting a performance efficiency valuation of 38, this was also on the all-time podium and the third highest ever recorded.
