Nicaragua’s Norchad Omier and Jared Ruiz delivered historic outings for their team, although the United States once again imposed its strength to come away with the win. Omier’s 20 rebounds are the most by any player in a single game in the history of the Americas Qualifiers for the World Cup. In his 20–20 performance, the power forward went 6-of-10 on two-pointers and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line. Meanwhile, Ruiz’s 36 points tied the second-highest scoring mark in the region’s Qualifiers, behind Colombia’s Braian Angola (37), Argentina’s Gabriel Deck (37), and Puerto Rico’s David Huertas (36). The veteran knocked down 6-of-10 from three-point range and a perfect 10-of-10 from the charity stripe. For a second straight gameday, MarJon Beauchamp led the United States past Nicaragua. The shooting guard was highly efficient, going 9-of-13 from the field (69 percent), including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc.
Point guard Garvin Clarke also had a personal night to remember even though The Bahamas fell short against Canada. His 13 assists were the second-highest total in Qualifiers history, trailing only the 14 recorded by Mexico’s Paul Stoll in 2021. He also hit four triples and added one block. Another player who couldn’t celebrate a win on the final day was Andrés Feliz, as the Dominican Republic stumbled at home against Mexico. However, the Real Madrid guard carried his team to the end with 8 makes in 13 attempts, including 4-of-8 from long range. Defensively, he contributed one steal.
