MIAMI (United States) – The second window of the FIBA World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers didn't just bring the heat; it showcased a new generation of talent that is ready to represent their nation on the continental stage. Several players under the age of 23 made significant contributions for their national teams, building momentum as they chase a place on the road to 2027. Here are five young stars from Window 2:

    Gonzalo Corbalan (ARG)

Position: Shooting Guard Age: 23 Height: 6'4" / 1.93 m After averaging 14.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists at the FIBA AmeriCup 2025, Corbalan has been on the radar as an emerging leader for Argentina. Through four Qualifiers games, he's averaging 13.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. He put up a dominant performance against Uruguay with 14 points, shooting 50 percent from two-point range. Against Panama, he was one of the most efficient players on the floor, shooting 100 percent from the foul line for the first time in this qualifying window. He also kept up his close-range shooting, averaging 65.2 percent across all windows.

    Yeferson Guerra (VEN)

Position: Shooting Guard Age: 22 Height: 6'2" / 1.88 m Guerra was averaging 5.7 points during the FIBA AmeriCup 2025. His game has since exploded, he's now averaging 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game during the Americas Qualifiers. Making a statement during the first window with a 16-point performance against Colombia, he had back-to-back double-digit performances in Window 2. He added 11 points in just 20 minutes against Brazil, and tallied another 16 against Chile. Shooting 50 percent from two-point range across the qualifiers, Guerra also grabbed 11 rebounds across the last two games, with 9 of them coming off the defensive end as he continues to be a physical presence in the paint.

    Wini Silva (BRA)

Position: Power Foward Age: 20 Height: 6'9" / 2.07 m After playing only 10 minutes across the first window, Silva has made a statement during Window 2 with an average of 12 points per game, shooting 80 percent from the floor against Venezuela and 60 percent against Colombia. Averaging just 13.5 minutes across windows, Silva has quickly become a go-to rotational player to make an offensive impact for Brazil, as the 6'9" forward is hard to stop in the paint.

    Yahir Bonilla (MEX)

Position: Small Forward Age: 22 Height: 6'8" / 2.04 m Bonilla has provided steady production for Mexico, and Window 2 was no exception, as the team relied on the 23-year-old to produce for the nation. Averaging 13.8 points and 6.3 rebounds, Bonilla was crucial in Mexico's performance against Nicaragua, tallying 13 points and shooting 5-of-9 from two-point range. Even in a tough matchup against the United States, Bonilla shot 66.7 percent from the floor and put up 6 points in 10 minutes played.

Position: Guard Age: 23 Height: 6'2" / 1.90 m As a starter for Jamaica in Window 2, Thelwell is averaging 33.7 minutes across both windows.
