MARSEILLE (France) - Ub (Serbia) returned to form with an unbeaten run on Day 1 of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Marseille 2025 on May 24.
TEAMS
UB (Serbia)
Ub haven’t gotten off to the hottest start in the World Tour circuit so far by their own lofty standards. In Marseille however, we got a glimpse of the prowess we’re accustomed to seeing from the Serbian Giants.
They took on German side Skyliners in their opener, who were with one of the best scorers in 3x3 history in Stefan Kojic. Yet, it was business as usual for Ub as they came away with a 21 - 15 victory. The mercurial Strahinja Stojacic finished with double digit points as his 11 led the way for their win.
They took on Lausanne next where a similar story followed. Dr. Strange went off for another 11-point outburst, even landing a game-ending dunk to seal the 20 - 17 victory for Ub.
Chongming, Amsterdam and Miami were the other sides to finish perfect in pool play.
PLAYERS
MAARTEN BOUWKNECHT (Amsterdam)
The Dutch shooter has been on fire in the World Tour circuit so far this season and today was no exception.
He put up a scintillating 11 points in Amsterdam’s 19 - 15 win over Bordeaux in their first pool game, 8 of them coming from beyond the arc from two. He led his side in scoring yet again with 7 points in their close 16 - 14 win over Liman.
Bouwknecht has been an offensive force for Amsterdam and they’ll need him to show out tomorrow as they vie for their first stop win of the season.
QUARTER-FINAL

Miami (USA) v Toulouse (FRA)
Chongming (CHN) v Vienna (AUT)
