It was Sienna Betts who proved the biggest menace for the defense as she had the biggest performance efficiency valuation of the day at a magnificent 35. That came from shooting a stunning 11 of 12 on her way to 25 points - along with 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

Her USA colleague Saniyah Hall also made the most of a special day for the team as she weighed in with an all-action 23 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Gal Raviv came into the competition as one of the top prospects and showed why with a mind-blowing 7 of 8 from downtown for first-timers Israel. However, her brilliant 35 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds was not enough to avoid going down 86-82 against Hungary.

Kejia Ran of China caught fire and put up a majestic 28 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists, but it was not enough to prevent a nail-biting 93-88 defeat to Nigeria.

That was mostly due to Nora Ezike who had a dream debut. She sunk all eight of her shots in the contest to claim a sublime 25 points - as well as 6 boards and 2 steals as Nigeria collected their first ever win in the competition.
