BRNO (Czechia) - Gal Raviv can officially lay claim to being the most prolific scorer in FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup history after her remarkable display for Israel at the 2025 edition in Brno.
The guard shot the lights out for the debutantes and averaged an all-time high of 26.3 points per game, becoming only the third player to ever surpass the 25.0 points per outing landmark and the first to exceed 26.0 per game.
In what is a spectacular achievement, Raviv exceeded the previous best - set by FIBA Hall of Fame inductee Danira Bilic 36 years ago, when she dropped 25.7 points per game playing then for Yugoslavia.
Meanwhile Japan's Yuko Oga who is also in the FIBA Hall of Fame is the only other player in this exclusive club, having recorded 25.4 points per game in 2001.
Raviv amassed her average of 26.3 points balling in six games, starting out with a huge 35 point display on her debut. She then dropped 30 points in Israel's historic first ever win in the competition as they took down Korea.
While USA had the depth and defense to slow her down, she then got back to scoring ways with 18 points against Portugal and wrapped up with 28 points against Korea.
Sandwiched in the middle of those two games was a staggering 38-point display against China. That was the highest tally by any European baller since Bilic in 1989 and in dropping 14 field goals from 2-point range - it was the joint third best ever display at the U19 Worlds.
Even more impressive was her overall total of 16 field goals against China, which was the second highest in the entire history of the competition.
Meanwhile Raviv, who is heading to play for the University of Miami in 2025-26 after transferring from Quinnipac, was not only about scoring in Brno and also contributed an excellent 6.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. Those were also instrumental in her attaining All-Second Team honors.
