    BRNO (Czechia) - It proved to be another outstanding day of action at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2025 as Portugal and Israel took new footsteps, while Canada were record-breakers from long-range.

    There were also celebrations for Australia who broke their own perimeter shooting record on way to a first success at this edition.

    Portugal love balling in Brno as they get rolling

    The sense of deja vu was strong for debutantes Portugal as they took a first ever win in the competition at the second attempt when they raced past China 75-52.

    Inspired by Clara Silva and her epic 25 points and 12 rebounds, the victory came on the very same court that the senior team registered their historic first win at FIBA Women's EuroBasket last month.

    Israel are history-makers as Raviv explodes for another 30 points

    Gal Raviv showed her class once again as Israel registered their first ever FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup success by outlasting Korea 63-61 in a super roller-coaster game.

    Coming back from 14 points down, the 'walking bucket' dropped 30 points to add to her 35 point effort on opening day against Hungary.

    Umbrellas out for Canada's record downtown deluge

    Canada became the first team ever at the U19 Worlds (women or men) to make 20 triples in a game as they torched Nigeria 113-42 with a blistering shooting display.

    Agot Makeer made five of them on her way to 18 points, with her team also handing out 36 assists which was the joint second best tally in history for any nation.

    Australia light it up to tie Gems triples record

    There was not stopping Australia who stepped into their first game of Group C and shot the lights out from the perimeter to stride past Brazil 87-59.

    The Gems made 16 three-pointers in the contest, with Madison Ryan and Bonnie Deas both netting four each. The former finished with 22 points in a 9 of 11 shooting effort, while Deas racked up 17 points, 9 boards and 4 assists.

    Other results

    - USA extended their winning streak to 23 games in the competition as they eased past Hungary 79-49 with Sienna Betts again starring. The center harvested a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds.

    - Host nation Czechia are up and running after they outlasted Argentina 77-49 thanks mainly to a brilliant 14 triples. Emilie Brzonova led her team impressively and stepped off the court having contributed 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals.

    - Spain proved to much for Japan to handle as they claimed a 69-54 triumph that was founded on 13 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals from Maria Anais Rodriguez. Otoha Goto stood out with 19 points for Japan.
