MIES (Switzerland) - Türkiye are celebrating booking their spot at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 after collecting the win they needed against Iceland to confirm their ticket.
The road to Qatar began with a convincing 93-71 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina, with their two biggest victories coming against Serbia, first winning 82-78 in Belgrade, thanks to 22 points from Tarik Biberovic, who then added 21 points in the return game in Istanbul, leading to a 94-86 triumph.
Türkiye only got better from there, coasting to an unblemished record in the Qualifiers, led by Biberovic, who averaged a team-high 17.8 points and Cedi Osman, who poured in 16.3 points per contest.
